The teams are rested, preparations have been made, all that is left is playing the game.

Sulphur Springs and Nacogdoches, both coming off overwhelming bi-district series win, now face each other in the softball playoffs.
The Lady Dragons (24-7) and Lady Cats (21-12) collide today at 6 p.m. in the Class 4A area playoffs at Lindale High School.
It’s a one game series, something which suits both schools in this winner-take-all format.
Sulphur Springs is fresh from a nice week of workouts following the sweep of McKinney North. The wins seemed to energize the players as they pounded the Lady Bulldogs 9-0 and 5-3.
It was the proven formula of strong pitching, timely hitting and steady defense which led the Lady Cats to first round softball win.
Hailey Dixon was near perfect in the 9-0 win over McKinney North allowed just one hit, striking out 18 batters. The second win, a 5-3 road decision, was a game where the Lady Cats flashed some leather with outstanding defense to take the win. Makayla Glosson had an game-changing catch of a sinking line near second base which prevented a McKinney North rally.
Nacogdoches had been a terror all season and proved too tough for Red Oak to handle. The Lady Dragons won 10-1, 17-0 as they ripped five homers.
Sulphur Springs head softball coach David Carrillo decided to take his chances in a one-game playoff.
“Nacogdoches is very good. We just have to believe and stay focused. I think playing one game will be good for us,” Carrillo said.
Carrillo remembers Nacogdoches downing Sulphur Springs in the bi-district playoffs 3-1, 6-3 last year.
“We watched the video of the games and have made adjustments,” Carrillo said. “The things we saw were fixable. We hope to be able be to do things a little different and have a better outcome than last time.”
The teams have eight starters back per team which played in 2012.
