Sulphur Bluff boys win district; SB girls play tonight

    YANTIS — Sulphur Bluff took a 10-0 win over the Owls here Saturday in the final district baseball game of the regular season.


    “This win over Yantis gives Sulphur Bluff the 17-A title, the baseball programs’ first in school history,” said Blake Hill, Sulphur Bluff head baseball coach.
    The Bears also advance to the playoffs for the first time.
    In the win over Yantis, Dakota Emerson, Collin Williams, Hunter Powers, Blake Brown and Clay Mitchell all knocked in runs.
    Williams was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts in the historic win for the team.
    The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears play in bi-district softball action today at 6 p.m. in Caddo Mills against Bland.
