MILLER GROVE — A towering third inning home run by Jessie Williams and another three-hit day from Blake Adams sparked the North Hopkins Panthers to a 10-2 district baseball win at Miller Grove Friday.
Dakota Jones got the pitching win in the start with Silas Whaley closing the game.
"Jessie (Williams) home run was as good a ball as I have seen hit. It got out of the park very quick and seemed to just keep going," Coach Tim Henderson said. "I was pleased with Dakota Jones coming back on the mound after getting getting hit in the face by a pitch against Sulphur Bluff."
The Panthers led 6-0 after three innings and 8-2 after six frames. Miller Grove got only three hits off the Panther mound duo. Whaley sat down the final six batters, striking out three.
Adams led the Panthers with a 3 for 4 day while Kevin Meza added a 2 for 3 outing at the plate.
The Panthers are now 10-3 in district and 13-5 for the season.
