From staff reports
GREENVILLE — It’s wasn’t a win, but it was an improved effort.
Sulphur Springs lost 1-0 in Greenville Wednesday to the Lions in District 20-4A soccer action.
Greenville took the lead in the first half and made the lone goal standup.
“Our guys played very well. We had many chances, but couldn't find the back of the net,” said Andy Holt, Sulphur Springs head boys soccer coach. “ Their keeper made some big plays as well as a couple of defenders who cleared balls off the line.  I was proud of the effort. We did a great job last night of switching the ball. We just have to find a way to finish. The defense played well.
The coach continued,” We play at Commerce Friday and we have to match the intensity we had last night and finish the ball.  I thought Rodrigo Larios, Jesus Arellano and Alejandro Arellano played extremely well for us.”
The Wildcats, now 6-8-2 play at home Monday against Princeton with JV game at 5:30 and the varsity at 7 p.m. at Gerald Prim Stadium.
