CUMBY — The Cumby Trojans were on the warpath Tuesday taking a 22-0 win over Fannindel in high school varsity baseball action.
Jim Evans got his first pitching win, allowing one hit and striking out six in the game shortened by the run
rule. Chase Harry struck out two in relief.
Charlie Potts had a home run, triple and knocked in five. Dustin Heer, Harry, Cody Anderson and Justin Smith had two hits each.
Cumby, 8-3 overall, 6-2 in district, will play at Yantis Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

The Bears got nine hits and scored frequently, taking an 11-5 win over Honey Grove.
Blake Brown was the winning pitcher. He struck out 13 in the rout in 6 1/3 innings. Justin Goldsmith had two strikeouts to close the game.
Brown was 3 for 4 at the dish with two runs plated. Goldsmith also knocked in two with a hit. Erin Zeringue, Landon Earley and Dakota Emerson each had one hit and one RBI. Clay Mitchell also contributed a hit.
Coach Blake Hill said, “Our boys did an excellent job of seeing pitches and making the most of their at-bats.”

Saltillo’s Lady Lions scored a 10-0 win over North Hopkins in recent district softball competition.
Karli Brewer got the pitching win with a one-hitter as Saltillo went to 3-0 in district.
Top hitters for Saltillo were Tiffney and Courtney Goldsmith, Kendall Bain, Regan Hicks and Chanda Neal.
The Lady Lions will play at Sulphur Bluff Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. game.
