    PARIS — Sulphur Springs teams braved cold and windy conditions Friday at the Champion Motors Wildcat Relays at Paris High School.
    The varsity girls took fifth place with 62.50 points and the junior varsity girls were fourth posting a 45-point total.


    “For a cold, not so fun evening in the elements, I thought that all of the young ladies competed very well,” said Triston Abron, Sulphur Springs track coach. “No one broke their personal record, but that is expected considering the weather conditions. This week we go to Lindale and hope for better conditions and see if we can’t start to peak for district.”

    In boys varsity track action, the Sulphur Springs boys were seventh with a total of 49.50. The junior varsity team was third, scoring 113.
    “We ran okay, the kids competed in tough conditions,” said Matt Young, Sulphur Springs track coach. “We continue to improve in the field events. Carter White ran a great two mile. Zach Spigner and Matthew Brice are making progress. Heath Howard took fourth in the discus and shot. We are continuing to work with an eye toward the district track meet April 10-11.”
