SSMS boys second, third in track

    EMORY — The Sulphur Springs Middle School boys did well in the recent Emory Rains track meet.

                                Eighth grade

    In eighth grade division, Kaufman took first with 174 points. Sulphur Springs was nipping at their heels with a 151 total in second place.
    Jaylon Hawkins of Sulphur Springs set a new school record with a 20-11 distance in the long jump for first place.
    Hawkins — first in shot put, first in 100-meter dash, first in 4x100-relay and third in 4x400-relay.
    Mason Buck —  first in 300-meter hurdles, second in 110-hurdles.
    Tyrese Peters — first in the 4x100-relay, second in triple jump, third in 400-meter run, third in 4x400-relay.
    Braden Von Reyn — third in 100-hurdles, third in 300-hurdles, third in 4x400-relay.
    Israel Lopez — first in 4x100-relay, third in 4x400-relay, fifth in 400-meter run.
    Jackson Kinsey — third in 2,400-meter run.
    Cason Parks — fourth in 2,400-meter run, sixth in 1,600-meter run.
    Heston Golightly — first in 4x100-relay, third in 4x400-meter relay, third in triple jump, sixth in high jump.
    Isaiah Neal — second in shot put.
    Josh Thompson — third in discus.

Seventh grade
    The Wildcats were third with 149.5 points behind Crandall’s 177 points and Kaufman with 161 in this division.
    Simeon Taylor — second in long jump, second in triple jump, second in 200-meter run and fourth in 4x100-relay.
    Jaxon Reneau — second in 100-hurdles, second in 4x400-relay, sixth in 400-meter run.
    Tiesan Goodson — second in 4x400-relay, third in 4x200-relay, fourth in long jump, fourth in triple jump, fourth in 4x100-relay.
    Iverson Wade — second in shot put.
    Julio Robles — first in 800-meter run.
    Bryan Camacho — second in 4x400-relay, third in 400-meter run.
    Ryan Humphries — second in pole vault, second in 300-hurdles, third in 100-meter dash, third in 4x200-meter relay.
    Terrell Turman — second in 300-meter hurdles.
    Tyreese Pryor — third in shot put, third in 4x200-relay and fourth in 4x100-relay.
