BIRTHRIGHT — A 10-run first inning sparked the North Hopkins Lady Panthers to a convincing 19-4 win over Cumby in the district opener for both squads.

"We have played a tough pre-season schedule against teams that were playoff teams last year and it is starting to pay off," coach Larry Tucker said. "Griner did a great job on the mound and Crouch has really come on at the plate in the past two weeks. We have solid senior leadership from Griner and Weigel which really helps."
