Nothing like going out with a bang.

Senior Night for the Sulphur Springs was an explosion of goals as the home varsity team routed District 19-4A soccer rival Paris, 5-0 at Gerald Prim Stadium, Monday night.
The Lady Cats had more shots on goal and more scoring tries, so it was only natural they won easily won the game. They are 9-10-4 overall, 3-4 in district.
Grace Grafton opened the scoring with a nifty kick  into the corner of the net with 5:56 left in the first half. Less than two minutes later, the Lady Cats were scoring again. Madison Ramirez lofted a high pass for an assist in the middle of the field for Hannah Schulz who took the ball and boomed it into the net to give the home team a 2-0 lead at the half.
Esmeralda Sanchez, Katie Huff and Ramirez scored one goal each in the second half. Sulphur Springs used all players suited up and easily won by the 5-0 final.
“The first thing is we had a group of highly motivated players wanting to send the seniors out in style. We started all 10 seniors and of course they were highly motivated to put on a good show and they did,” said Jesus DeLeon, Lady Cats head soccer coach. “The underclassmen that normally start were eager to get into the game and contribute and they did. Overall it was a very successful night on both ends and we're pleased to make the night a memorable one for the class of 2013. We are now looking forward to playing North Lamar on Friday to improve our playoff positioning and go into the playoffs in good form.”
