    The C.H.E.S.S. Knights will sponsor a 3-on-3 basketball tournament Saturday.

    The event will begin at 10 a.m. and play will continue until finished at the Central Baptist FLC building at 840 Connally St. in Sulphur Springs.
    Entry fee is $40 per team (maximum of four players) with a $5 entry fee for the half court challenge shot.
    Play will be divided into two men’s divisions - 19 and under, 20 and above. Prizes include four Dallas Mavericks tickets for the March 26 game againt the LA Clippers.
    A $50 cash prize will be awarded for the 3-point contest and a $50 cash prize for the half court shot winner.
    Concessions will be available. The event is free and open to the public.

    The gym will be open at 9 a.m. and brackets posted at 9:30 a.m.
    All proceeds will benefit the C.H.E.S.S. Knights varsity basketball team and help fund their trip to the National Homeschool Tournament in Springfield, Mo.

Sulphur Bluff
rips Saltillo
    The Bears were on the prowl recently taking a 15-1 win over Saltillo in high school baseball action.
    Collin Williams knocked in four and went 3 for 5 in the win. Justin Goldsmith was 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs. Cade Argenbright also knocked in two and had two hits. Hunter Powers was 2 for 3 with one run plated. Erin Zeringue, Blake Brown and Landon Earley also contributed hits.
    Goldsmith was the winning pitcher, fanning nine Lions.
    “We played two scoreless innings and exploded in the middle innings. We were getting a good look at the plate and making the most of the opportunities,” said Blake Hill, Sulphur Bluff head baseball coach.
        The Bears have a home game today at 4 p.m. against Roxton.

Soccer tryouts
at Paris JC
    Paris Junior College will hold open soccer tryouts for the men and women's teams on Sunday, April 21 at Noyes Stadium.
    Women's tryouts will be held from 12-1:30 p.m. and men's tryouts from 1:30-3 p.m.
    Prospective players must be a high school senior or older to
participate. If they are under 18, they must bring a parent or guardian. All participants must wear shin guards and bring water.
