LINDALE —The Sulphur Springs Wildcats got hot and won twice Friday in chilly baseball tournament competition in Lindale.
The Wildcats took a 5-2 win over Paris in the first game and defeated 14-4A rival Mount Pleasant, 10-3.

Jenner Jackson was 3 for 4 (including a double) with 3 RBIs as the Wildcats ripped 13 hits in the 5-2 win over Paris.
Brennan Brock had two hits, including a double and plated a run. Kason Matthews also had a pair of hits. Jonathan Bowers had an RBI double. Alex Burney pounded two hits. Cole Hill contributed a double. Getting hits were Ben Brooks and Jordan Jackson.
Jenner Jackson pitched a complete game with seven innings pitched. He faced 27 batters allowed two runs, one earned run from six hits, striking out seven while walking none.

Mount Pleasant 3
Again the bats were booming as Sulphur Springs had 10 hits led by three from Burney. Burney knocked in one with three hits, including a double. Zach Miller and Hill had one hit and one RBI each. Jordan Jackson had a triple, Jenner Jackson and Hill doubled. Getting singles were Matthews and Brooks.
Brooks pitched a complete game going seven innings. He allowed three runs, all earned, off eight hits, walking one and fanning four.
“We played much better. Our game against Mount Pleasant was probably our best of the year,” said Jerrod Hammack, Sulphur Springs head baseball coach.
