Lady Cats JV beats Quitman

    QUITMAN — Tamra Rushing knocked in five runs and pitcher Sarah Womack struck out six batters as the Sulphur Springs Lady Cats junior varsity won 11-5 over the Quitman varsity.
    The Friday night game played under cool and breezy conditions went to the visitors as they banged out 13 hits.


    Womack got the complete game win allowing five runs, three earned run in seven innings, giving up five hits, walking three and striking out six.
    Rushing was 3 for 4 with a double, triple and five RBIs; Molly Johnson, 3 for 3, 2 runs scored, one RBI.
    “We played very well tonight,” said David Carrillo, Sulphur Springs head coach. “We had some big hits and Womack did a good job in the circle. It was fun to watch the young girls step up.”
