    Several scores were reported from recent games with the following reports turned in by coaches.

Yantis Lady Ows
win District Title
    YANTIS — The Lady Owls took recent wins over Miller Grove, Trinidad and Campbell to finish 8-0 and first place in the district girls basketball race according to coach Tina Carrillo.
    Yantis defeated Miller Grove, 55-17.    Top scorers for the Lady Owls were - Angelica Sandoval 16, Josey Wetzel 15 and Molly Bell scored 10. Bailey Penny led Miller Grove with 8 points.
    Yantis beat Trinidad, 57-17. Sandoval had 19, Destiny Garces added 10 while Wetzel scored 9 points.
    The Lady Owls defeated Campbell, 36-34 in a Tuesday thriller.
    Wetzel led the way with 21 points.

Yantis boys win
two in District
    YANTIS — Mark Carrasco had four 3-pointers and 15 points as the Yantis Owls took a 58-39 win over Trinidad.
    Jesus Sandoval had 11 points for the Owls with one 3-pointer.
    In other recent action, Yantis took a 53-35 win over Campbell in home hoop play.
    The Owls had four players in double figures as they pounded Campbell with balanced scoring.
    Sandoval led the way with 13 points, Mark Carrasco, Michael Carrasco and Logan Glenn all had 11 points each.
    The Owls are 14-14, 5-3 in district.

No. 11 Saltillo 77,
Union Hill 27
    UNION HILL—Nick Boekhorst had 30 points as the No. 11 ranked Class 1A, Divison II Lions won 77-27 over Union Hill.
    Cade Daniel had 14 and Justin Barnett added 10 points for Saltillo.
    “We got off to a fast start. We did a good job on defensive rebounds and scoring in transition,” said Bill Giles, Saltillo head boys basketball coach. “Union Hill ran the clock in the second half to slow the game down.”
    Saltillo, 25-7, will host Karnack Friday, varsity only at 6 p.m.
    The Lions are undefeated at 9-0 in district and have clinched a playoff berth.
