Soccer players were practicing in two locations on the high school campus Wednesday in anticipation of upcoming games.
The Lady Cats were practicing on the track infield outdoors under windy, but sunny conditions.
The Sulphur Springs had their recent home game with Chapel Hill washed out by the rain. That game will not be made up.
The Sulphur Springs junior varsity girls play Chapel Hill at 5:30 p.m. Friday prior to the girls varsity game at 7:15 p.m. against Pleasant Grove. All games are at Gerald Prim Stadium.
The Sulphur Springs Wildcats took to the climate controlled conditions of the indoor facility Wednesday as they prepared for Texarkana Tournament which starts today and continues through Saturday.
“The games will actually be played at the Pleasant Grove field,” said Andy Holt, Sulphur Springs head boys soccer coach. “I like the field, it is turf and below ground level. It is very nice.”
The Wildcats open with a 7 p.m. game today against Whitehouse. On Friday, Sulphur Springs will meet Texas High and Liberty-Eylau. Times for games are still undetermined.
