The 5-foot-8, 195-pound running back signed a letter of intent recently to continue his football playing career at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.
The football season began with a bang for the Bulldogs with the opening of the new state-of-the-art football stadium.
But the season was a disappointment with the ‘Dogs finishing 2-8. But the contributor of Bacy on both offense and defense was noticed by college scouts.
Bacy will take his 4.7 speed in the 40-yard dash to ETBU where he will play for head coach Mark Sartain.
“We feel really good about his signing,” said Cooper head football coach Ronnie Green. “He’s excited about the opportunity.”
Green said that Gary Wilson, a member of the Cooper Class of 2008 is also a football player at ETBU.
“Gaylon is a hard worker, a good student. He was a senior team captain after starting on the JV. He will do well and make the most of this chance. He’ll do the work to get better at the next level,” Green said.
