After splitting games with Pine Tree, Sulphur Springs squads will take on Marshall foes tonight.

The Wildcats will be on the road facing Marshall in a tripleheader. The freshman game is set for 5 p.m. followed by the junior varsity and varsity games.
Sulphur Springs fell to 0-4 after losing Tuesday at home 54-41 to the Pirates. The Wildcats are 6-21 for the year.
Marshall is in second place in the boys district race with a 3-1 mark, 19-8 for the season.
The Mavericks are coming off an impressive 72-62 win over Texas High.
Sulphur Springs head boys basketball coach Jeremy Josey already knows about the firepower the Mavericks possess.
“They like to run up and down the court. That’s their game, they score a lot of points. They want the final score to be in the 70s or 80s,” Josey said. “That’s not our game and we can’t run with them. We have to stay in our slowed-paced game.”
Josey said, “The game will be an exact opposite of our game with Pine Tree. Pine Tree was slow, like we are used to. Marshall will try to get us to run up and down the court. For us to have a chance to win, we need to slow things down.”
The Lady Cats will put their 4-2 district record on the line at home as they host Marshall. The JV game is at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity contest at 7 p.m.
Sulphur Springs is coming off a 57-38 win in Longview over Pine Tree. In that game, Desi Debase had 24 points, while Destiny Wade added 12 points.
Marshall is winless during district play. The Lady Mavs lost 56-27 against Texas High.
The game is the second meeting in district between the squads. Sulphur Springs won 63-42 at Marshall in the first game.
