LONGVIEW — For the second time in district, the Pine Tree Lady Pirates were no match for the quickness of the Sulphur Springs Lady Cats.
Sulphur Springs had 12 steals and 15 deflections. They scored off miscues all night, taking a 57-38 win over the Lady Pirates in Tuesday night 14-4A action.

Desi Debase led the way for Sulphur Springs with 24 points and a pair of steals. Destiny Wade had 12 points, 4 boards; Kasey Moore contributed 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals.
The Wildcats had five 3-pointers in the game, two each by Shakoja Debase Desi Debase with Sydney Fisher canning one.
The win moved the Lady Cats to 21-9 overall, 3-2 in district.
Pine Tree fell to 15-9, 3-3.
"We were in foul trouble early, so we were very glad to get the win," Chapman said. "In the first half we had seven players with two fouls each and Shakoja Debase had three fouls. I was thinking ‘here we go again on the road in foul trouble,’ but we overcame it. We finished the game with Desi having four fouls, Destiny Wade fouled out."
Sky Holmes had 17 and Daniesha Patterson scored 13 for Pine Tree.
"We played well and did the things we had to do to win the game. We are shooting the ball better as a team. We got several 3-pointers and that helped," Chapman said. "We were up 25-21 at the half. We then went ahead by nine (40-31) going into the fourth quarter."
Chapman said, "We played really good defense in the second half. The turnovers we got led to points. We used some traps and we made the most of our chances. Offensively, we were more patient. We held the ball and made them come out from the zone to guard us. We had a good game overall. We had much better energy in this game. We rebounded better. We still need to be blocking out on free throws. "
"We are 4-2 with four games left. I feel better about our position with the games we have left," Chapman said. "We have Marshall on Friday, that's a  big game."
Girls scores from Tuesday include - Texas High 56, Marshall 27 and Mount Pleasant 54, Hallsville 38.
