    Basketball  tournament dates open for play days and tournaments have been released.
    Dates taken Little Dribblers tournament March 9 and March 23 at Brownsboro grades 3/4, 5/6 and7/8 girls and boys.
    Play day and tournament dates taken are June 22 at Bullard 5/6 thru varsity boys and girls. Tournament dates taken June 28 and 29 all age groups 5/6 thru varsity boys and girls four-game guarantee $225 per team. July 25-27 in Mount Vernon all age groups 5/6 thru varsity boys and girls five-game guarantee $250 per team.

    BIRTHRIGHT — The Honey Grove Lady Warriors streaked to a 46-10 first half lead and coasted to a 65-27 District 16A victory over North Hopkins. The win moves Honey Grove to 6-1. North Hopkins is 2-7 in district play with a trip to Maud set for Tuesday.
    "They came out on fire and we just could not keep pace with them," Coach Larry Tucker said. "Avery, Honey Grove and Maud have the upper hand in district and Detroit has been playing well."
    Baile Gamill led the Lady Panthers with six points whole Chelsey Crouch had five.
"Our defense did much better in the second half, holding them to 19 points and our offense got 17," Tucker added.     "It's tough to play from behind against a good team hitting most of their shots, but my girls don't quit. We must continue to work hard and make the last three games of the year our best."
    North Hopkins travels to Maud for four games beginning with the girls JV game at 4 p.m. followed by the boys JV at 5 p.m. followed the the varsity girls at 6  p.m. and the boys at approximately 7:30 p.m.
    The Panthers host Avery Friday, Jan. .25, with four games beginning at 4:30 p.m.

whips Savoy
    Aaron Covington  had 23 points from six 3-pointers to pace Miller Grove over Savoy, 57-34.
    Patrick Covington had a double-double for the Hornets with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Logan Smith added 10 points in the rout.
