   SULPHUR BLUFF — The Bears exploded for 24 points in the final period, taking a 72-60 win over Bloomburg in boys varsity basketball action.
   Four players hit in double figures for Sulphur Bluff led by Blake Brown’s 21 points.

   AVINGER — The Saltillo Lions went on a 17-2 scoring run in the third period, powering a 61-41 win over Avinger.
   Nick Boekhorst had 24 points and Tyler Davison contributed 23 points.
   The No. 12 state-ranked team went to 19-7 for the year. They host Union Hill at 7:30 p.m.

   AVINGER —Victoria Stretcher scored 15 points to lead the No. 1 state ranked Lady Lions to a 59-18 win.
   The Lady Lions defense was relentless allowing just eight points in the first half, while Saltillo scored 44 points.
   In the second half the scoring slowed down with Saltillo going on a 13-0 run in the third period.
