SS teams in soccer tournament

    The time for scrimmaging is over as the Wildcats and Lady Cats take to tournament action in games geared to prepare them for district play.
    The Lady Cats will be in the Mount Pleasant Tournament Thursday through Saturday,

    Sulphur Springs begins play Thursday with a game at 8:30 a.m. against Liberty-Eylau. The squad plays at 4 p.m. against Longview later Thursday. Friday the Lady Cats take on Hallsville at 5:30 p.m.
    The team plays Saturday against foes yet to be determined.
    The Wildcats are coming off a 4-0 scrimmage loss at home against Mount Pleasant.
    “We are still working on getting people in the right spots and working on playing together,” said Andy Holt, Wildcats head soccer coach.
    The Wildcats are set to begin play in the Forney Tournament.
    Sulphur Springs plays twice on Thursday. The first game is at 11:30 a.m. against Longview, they also play at 4:45 p.m. against J.J. Pearce.
    On Friday, the Wildcats play at 8 a.m. against Rockwall Heath. At 3 p.m. they take on Waco University.
    Holt added,  “We are looking forward to getting to practice this week and fixing some problems that we have had in the past two scrimmages.  We've got two days of practice and then we start official games.”
