The Wildcats and Lady Cats have their final soccer scrimmages this week.
The Wildcats will play at home today against Mount Pleasant. The scrimmage is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. with the JV and the varsity will follow at 7 p.m.
The Lady Cats scrimmage at home Tuesday against Texas High. The tilt is also scheduled for Gerald Prim Stadium.
The Wildcats are coming off a 1-0 scrimmage lost at Frisco.
“We are looking to improve on our last performance with Frisco Liberty. It doesn’t get any easier tonight as we play Mount Pleasant who won the region last year and advanced to the state tournament. They are very skilled and organized,” said Andy Holt, Sulphur Springs head boys soccer coach. “They graduated several from last year but appear to have just reloaded. They won two of their scrimmages this year, over Marshall and John Tyler. We just need to worry about playing better than we did in our last outing. This will be our last scrimmage before we start the real games that go on the record.”
The first home game for the Wildcats is Jan. 28 against John Tyler.
The Lady Cats are at home, Jan. 15 against Denison.
