The Lady Cats and Wildcats have packed up, heading for basketball tournaments on the road the next three days.
The Lady Cats, 8-3 for the year, will be in the Edgewood Tournament. Their first game is today against Wills Point at 3:30 p.m.
If Sulphur Springs wins, they play at 11 a.m. Friday against the winner of the North Forney/Winnsboro game. If the Lady Cats falls, they play the loser of the game matchup, this time at 5 p.m. Friday.
Sulphur Springs is coming off an impressive 58-56 road win over John Tyler.
The Lady Cats went 2-2 taking fourth place in the recent Winnsboro Hoop Fest.
The Wildcats, 2-6 for the year, start play today in pool action at the Wills Point Shootout.
Sulphur Springs plays at 10:35 a.m. against Edgewood and then takes on Royse City at 2:40 p.m. in a battle of former district rivals.
On Friday, the Wildcats will play at 2:40 p.m. vs. Kaufman and at 6:55 p.m. vs. T.C.A. (Trinity Christian Academy).
The Wildcats lost their most recent home game, 55-48 to North Lamar of Paris.
“We will face two pressing teams. This will only help us get ready for district,” said Jeremy Josey, Wildcats head boys basketball coach. “We are mixing and matching our lineup, looking for chemistry on the floor.”
