The Lady Cats are 2-0 and a fortunate team, according to head coach Jeff Chapman.

Chapman said his team is able to progress through early season growing pains and learning spurts while still being able to get wins.
“It’s good to be at this point,” Chapman said. “When you can pick up wins while you are still finding yourself. We know we have a way to go.”
The Lady Cats are 2-0 for the young season having scored wins over nearby rivals Mount Vernon and North Lamar.
The Lady Cats play a one game varsity only contest at 4 p.m. Friday at the SSHS gym against Clarksville.
Clarksville agreed to the game since their football team has a first round bye in the playoffs.
“We need games and practices to get ready,” Chapman said. “Our defense is good now in spurts. We had our moments against North Lamar.”
Chapman said the Lady Cats are getting scoring from transition buckets and off steals, but we need to be more patient in the half court attack.
“We need more scoring from our post players,” Chapman said. “We also need to be patient on shots and passing the ball to the post.”
