Sulphur Springs powerlifters got first place overall Saturday in Greenville. Many competitors had personal best in various lifts. The three that didn't place in the top five were competing the whole day for a spot.
The following athletes placed: In the 132-pound weight class Taylor Link took second with a 925-pound total; In the 148-pound weight class Eddie Arciga took first with a 1,070-pound total. In the 148-pound weight class J.R. Rivera took third with a 1,035-pound total. In the 165-pound weight class Joe Scott took second with a 1,185-pound total. In the 198-pound weight class Jake Russell took first with a 1,255-pound total. In the 198-pound weight class Tyler Higginbotham took fifth with a 1,100-pound total. In the Super Heavyweight class Mason Y’Barbo took first with a 1,370-pound total and Tadarius Johnson took fourth with a 1,310-pound total. The team, coached by Rodney Flowers, will compete Thursday in the Pittsburg meet.
