Youth bowlers recognized

Evan Fulcher was the Bowler of the Week for the second time. He had the honor for the week of Jan. 21. Fulcher, 107 pins over his average, shot games of 208, 204, 181. Runners up were Mason Virgel and Bethany Stevenson. Virgel, 57 pins over his average, had games of 171, 182, 163. Stevenson, 55 pins over average, shot 121, 133 and 125. Stevenson is one of three girls bowling in the Jim Mason’s Youth Program No. 2.



Wildcats win SS powerlifting meet Saturday

The Sulphur Springs powerlifting team took first place in the meet held Saturday at the multipurpose building.
A field of 211 lifters converged on SSHS for the event with some of the top competitors featured in the school in action.

Lady Cats win bracket; Wildcats tie MP

The Wildcats and Lady Cats did well Saturday on the final day of tournament play.
In the Mount Pleasant Tournament, the Wildcats (6-1-4) tied the host school, 2-2.


Bearcats beat Wildcats, 59-44

SHERMAN — A slow start came back to haunt Sulphur Springs as they could not recover here Friday and lost 59-44 to Sherman.

The District 13-4A game started smoothly for the home team as the Bearcats took a 21-8 after one frame.


Three Wildcats all-state in football

Three Sulphur Springs Wildcats received all-state honors being named today the the Texas Sports Writers Association  Class 4A football team.
Named honorable mention were seniors Cody Clayton, receiver; Justin Owens, quarterback and Erick Simmons, lineman.
Clayton had 60 catches for 927 yards and 12 scores for the Wildcats this season.
