Saltillo girls beat Slidell, 42-25

TYLER – The Saltillo Lady Lions obviously don’t like to play from behind.
The Lady Lions fell behind for the first time in three playoff games Friday afternoon against the Slidell Lady Hounds at Wagstaff Gymnasium. They stayed behind for only a minute.

Paris edges SS boys in soccer, 2-1

PARIS — The visiting Sulphur Springs squad saw the hometown Wildcats edge out a 2-1 in a key soccer battle.
Both teams entered the game with identical 3-0 marks in district. When the game was over it was Paris with a win and first place all alone.


Lady Cats named all-district

Sulphur Springs had two players on the top two teams and six  honorable mention as the District 13-4A girls basketball all-district team was released.
Reagan Humphrey, senior, post/forward was named to the first team while freshman Desi Debase earned second team honors.

Saltillo Lions beat Goodrich

JACKSONVILLE — Second half adjustments and increased defensive pressure sparked the Saltillo Lions to a 67-55 win over Goodrich in the Class 1A, Division area playoffs.
The big crowd at the Curtis Carroll Field House in Jacksonville got to see the Lions roar late with the game on the line.

Wildcats lose two games in Rose City Classic

TYLER  — The Sulphur Springs Wildcats lost twice Friday in baseball action in the 21st Annual Rose City Classic at Mike Carter Field.
After winning on the first day, the second round of the classic proved tougher on the Wildcats.
