WIldcat lifters go to regional Saturday

Now it’s time to see how they compete against the top teams in the area. After slicing through opponents like a hot knife through butter, the Sulphur Springs powerlifters will face the best in the  regional meet.

SS teams improve at Princeton track meet

PRINCETON — In the second meet of the track season, the Wildcats and Lady Cats showed improvement as they competed against a talented field Thursday at the Princeton meet.
“The girls had a great night. Ericka Simmons had another strong performance in the shot put, taking first. Destiny Wade had a great meet taking third in the discus,” said Matt Young, head girls track coach. “Ayana Taylor broke the school record in the 300-meter hurdles, placing first with a time of 49.62. Micah Stalcup returned to action in the 100-meter hurdles. Overall, I was really pleased with the girls performance against some solid competition.”


Wildcats win twice in Lindale baseball tourney

LINDALE — The Wildcats took two baseball tournament wins in drastically different ways.
In the opener Thursday morning, they rallied late to win 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning. The second game of the day was an 8-3 win over Paris, which featured very little suspense.

Lady Cats, Wildcats in key district soccer matches

Sulphur Springs teams have key district soccer games coming up today and Saturday.

SS athletes compete in Princeton track meet

The second track meet of the young season should prove to be challenging for athletes from Sulphur Springs.
