Bowling League report for May 22

With a couple of exceptions, the Classic Lanes fall-winter league bowling season for 2011-2012 will have concluded by the time this report appears.
And this is my last column, according to current plans. So, thanks to those who have provided information on the local bowling scene over the last few years.
Okay, that’s out of the way. Now it’s time for a last look at some of the top scoring for the week ending May 10, by league:

Wildcats place two teams in Gilmer finals

GILMER —Sulphur Springs had two teams advance to the finals in the recent Azalea Orthopedics 7-on-7 event and Lineman’s Challenge held  Saturday in Gilmer.
Sulphur Springs took more than 100 athletes competing on six teams.

Local gymnasts win TAAF awards

Sulphur Springs gymnasts took part in the TAAF State Gymnastics Championship for Level 3 and 4  held in Whitney on April 28-29, taking the Level 3 fourth place team trophy.
Competing were -  Ki Northcutt, Savannah Lilley, Emma Dobbs, Brook Saint Morrow and Maci Swafford.

SSMS teams dominate in 7-on-7

The Sulphur Springs 7-on-7 teams are competing today starting at 9 a.m. in the Azalea Orthopedic Tournament at Gilmer.
Competing are seventh, eighth, JV and two varsity teams.

Wildcats send six teams to 7-on-7 event

Sulphur Springs will be sending six teams to the Azalea Orthopedic 7-on-7 tournament Saturday in Gilmer.
Teams in the varsity division include Sulphur Springs, Gilmer, Daingerfield and Grace. Squads in the prep division are Sulphur Springs, Lindale, Whitehouse, Brook Hill and Rockwall.
Sulphur Springs will be taking two varsity teams, one JV team, one eighth grade team and two seventh grade squads.
