The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears will face Douglass at 6 p.m. in Hawkins in the bi-district playoffs.
Sulphur Bluff is 15-12 for the year, 7-3 in district.

Yantis meets Celeste in playoffs

YANTIS — The transition from worst to first only took a year and it shocked every team in the District 18-1A and even Lady Owls head coach Tina Carrillo.
“We only won one game last year in district. We got our teeth kicked in. Now this year, we are 8-2 in the playoffs,” said an amazed Carrillo. “We took second place, nobody gave it to us. It’s something and now we’re 18-12 and in the playoffs. This turnaround has exceeded our expectations.”

Lady Cats meet PT in playoffs Tuesday

It’s playoff time for the best basketball teams in the state and for the second consecutive year, the Lady Cats are part of that select group.
Sulphur Springs head girls basketball coach Jeff Chapman wants the playoffs to be part of the program he is building.
The Lady Cats finished fourth place in the District 13-4A race and now face District 14-4A champion Pine Tree in the bi-district round. The UIL Class 4A playoff game will be at 7  p.m. Tuesday at Wills Point High School.
