Sulphur Springs athletes in regional track action

Training has been going well for the 20-plus Sulphur Springs student athletes who will be participating in the UIL Class 4A Region II track meet.
The event will be held in Arlington on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington Friday and Saturday.

Teams prepare for softball playoffs

Softball teams is the area prepare for upcoming playoff games while baseball teams are in the final stretch run to determine district titles and playoff berths.
The North Hopkins Lady Panthers will be in playoff action according to Lady Panther head softball coach Lisa Vos.

Lady Cats play speedy Lady Dragons

The Sulphur Springs Wildcats might have avoided the power of Hallsville and Whitehouse, but can’t escape the speed of Nacogdoches.
Nacogdoches finished third in the 14-4A race with a 10-4 mark, the only losses were to powerhouses Hallsville and Whitehouse. The Lady Dragons are 22-6 for the year.

Track qualifiers compete at regional meet Friday and Saturday at the University of Texas at Arlington. Qualifiers include: Madison Ramirez, Micah Stalcup, Mati Massey, Briana Ivery, Ayanna Taylor, Labrandis Adams, Daizia Jackson, Courtney Crook, Desi Debase Moseley, McKenzie Sorley, Chrissalynd Person, Erika Simmons, Tyler Ballard, Matthew Brice, Johnathon Carlisle, Brennan Brock, Cody Clayton, Dadrian Smith, Kendrick Daniels, Zach Spigner, Tyler Ivery, Isaiah Lacy and Carter White.
Softball playoffs
Sulphur Springs vs. Nacogdoches, bi-district, Game 1, 7 p.m. Friday; Game 2, Saturday, 1 p.m., Game 3 to follow, Pine Tree HS. Ticket Prices: $5 Adults, $3 Students.

5 p.m. Sulphur Springs JV host Texas High, 7:30 p.m. Sulphur Springs varsity host Texas High, (Senior Night activiities at 7:15 p.m.)
6 p.m. Sulphur Springs 9th at Texas High.
