The Sulphur Spring Belles softball team swept all games in tournament action to advance to the state tournament in Liberty July 10 in the 13-14 age group.
The team won by scores of 19-4, 19-2, 21-1 in district action held recently in Mount Vernon.

The Sulphur Springs Central All-Stars won the recent Super Series in 8U competition in Kaufman. The team will host the Dixie state tournament starting July 4 and qualified for the 8 and under Super Series World Series.
COMMERCE — Texas A&M University-Commerce announced today that it will host the Drew Pearson Football Camp, July 21-22 at Memorial Stadium.
The camp is for football players that catch the ball including wide receivers, tight ends, running backs and defensive backs. Quarterbacks can sign up to throw drills at a special price.
“We are excited to have Drew Pearson bring his camp to Texas A&M University-Commerce. He has been a true supporter of our university. Drew was involved with the Harvey Martin Classic as a speaker at the inaugural luncheon,” said Texas A&M University-Commerce athletic director Carlton Cooper. “It is a great opportunity for student-athletes who want to improve their football skills to learn from one of the best.”
“With Drew bringing his camp to A&M-Commerce, we are excited to showcase our university to the participants and their families. The participants will
benefit from learning on and off the field skills from one of the best all time,” said A&M-Commerce head football coach, Guy Morriss.
The two-day camp goes from 6-9 p.m. and is instructed by the former Dallas Cowboy All Pro Receiver Drew Pearson as well as his coaching staff.

Just one win and the tone was set.
Despite the sizzling sun and sweltering heat, the Sulphur Springs All-Stars took an 8-5 over with the Paris National in District 5A action.
The fans, gathered in the shade on bleachers and in lawn chairs, got to see an exciting game Friday as the Dixie League U12 tournament began at Coleman Park.
Sulphur Springs took a quick 4-0 lead, later gave up five runs in an inning, but held off the rivals from Paris to take the win and advance in the event.
