The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats did something Tuesday they haven’t done this district season – notch a home victory.
The Lady Cats trailed just once – and that was the game’s opening bucket – on their way to a 45-27 victory over the Pine Tree Lady Pirates at Wildcat Gym.
Paced by a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds by sophomore Reagan Humphrey and nine points and seven rebounds by senior Kayla Phillips, the Lady Cats built a 10-point lead early in the second quarter and kept the double-digit advantage intact except for a brief flurry by Pine Tree that cut the lead to eight points early in the fourth quarter.
