LONGVIEW — There’s all kinds of ways to end a slump.
At times it ends with a simple bloop hit, other times teams can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
The Lady Cats had a better plan, they went wild with their aluminum sticks. They pounded out 26 hits as they took a 16-0 rout over the Lady Lobos. The win snapped a three-game district losing streak by the Lady Cats.

The Wildcats hope the winning is just beginning.
Sulphur Springs opened the District 13-4A with a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Pine Tree Pirates.
The Wildcats get back on the diamond today with a 7 p.m. matchup against Longview.

That confident feeling is back with the Sulphur Springs Wildcat soccer team.
Sulphur Springs ended the regular season with enough points in the standings to win the district title. But the Wildcats have been idle since March 12.
“We hadn’t played in a while and the warm-up game did exactly what we needed it to do. We got our intensity back,” said Wildcats head soccer coach Andy Holt of the 3-1 home decision Thursday over Forney. “We found the back of the net and that always makes you feel good.”
CUMBY —In Friday baseball action, Cumby won 5-2 over Roxton.
