Funeral services for Linie Ray, 95, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neil Cochran officiating.

Interment will follow at Caney Cemetery in Pickton with Ken Self, Mackel Self, David Wyly, Adam Wyly, James Wyly, Michael Kolbe, Brian Wyly and Felton Eppars serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ray passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on March 22, 1914, in Birmingham, Ala., the daughter of Albert and Hester (Wilbanks) Johnson.

She married John Orville Ray on Nov. 22, 1931, in Pickton. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ray was a homemaker. She was a member of Elm Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Pat Griner and her husband, Jobie, Cordie Rodgers, Mildred Parkinson and Nell Wyly, all of Sulphur Springs; one sister, Ethel Newkirk of Sulphur Springs; 18 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 68 great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Sammy Ray; an infant daughter, Edie Mae Ray; one brother, Charlie Walker; four grandsons, Michael Wayne Ray, Ricky Dale Withrow, Ricky Wyly and Joey Griner; and one great-grandson, PFC Christopher Ryan Williams.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
