Funeral services for Wilford “Tom” Miller, 73, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Bolton officiating.

Military graveside honors will be conducted at Caney Cemetery with Travis Cook, Billy Sharp, N.F. “Red” Layne, Red Roper, Richard Shivers and Butch Bolton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Ezell, Dr. Joe Minter and the members of VFW Post 8560.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Mr. Miller passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Baylor Health Center.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1936, in Pickton, the son of W.T. and Flonnie Mae (Nichols) Miller.

He married Sarah McCord on Sept. 4, 1987, in Pickton. She survives.

Mr. Miller served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the current commander of VFW Post 8560. He was a member of Caney Baptist Church.

Other survivors include his sons, Sam Miller and wife, Lisa, of Pickton, Kevin Dixon and wife, Melinda, of Sulphur Springs, and Damon Dixon of Como; one sister, Billie Mae Phillips of Pickton; and five grandchildren, Seth Miller, Alyssa Miller, Maysi Miller, Hailey Dixon and Hannah Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ernest L. Trant.

Memorials may be made to the Caney Cemetery Association, 11591 FR 269, Pickton, TX 75471.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
