Robert Davis Mowat
Funeral services for Robert Davis Mowat, 64, of Pickton were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Beaty Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrick Gernenze officiating.
Burial followed in New Pickton Cemetery with Al Mowat, Dillon Mowat, Aaron Skinner, Tom Stottle, Ronny Weems, Johnny Weems and Alex Mowat serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Mowat died Friday, Dec. 5, in Dallas.
He was born in Dallas on July 3, 1944, the son of Alexander Grant Jr. and Frances Davis Mowat.
He married Brenda Mowat on Jan. 14, 1966. She survives.
Mr. Mowat served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a truck driver for Tyler Pipe. He owned the B&B Store in Pickton. He was a member of Gus Garrison Masonic Lodge #1273. He served in several other lodges including Dallas, Sulphur Springs and Pickton. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Francis Mowat of Pickton; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Dave" Mowat II and wife, Cindy, of Pickton; one daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Shane Fite of Pickton; one sister, Jaque Rainey of Rockwall; and four grandchildren, Chase Fite, Alli Fite, Jake Mowat and McKensi Mowat.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Billie Vaughn.
