Jeffery Charles Cooper, age 37 went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 after a 14 Month battle with cancer. Visitation will be at Harvey Funeral Home in Mt Vernon, Thursday Evening from 6-8PM.

Funeral Services will be Friday Afternoon at 2PM at the Way Bible Church in Sulphur Springs with Pastors Joel Tiemeyerand Jeff Tiemeyer officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

Jeffery was born in Mt Vernon on May 27th, 1972. His parents are Frankie Cooper of Mt Vernon and Steve Cooper of Sulphur Springs. He attended Mt Vernon and Sulphur Springs High Schools and completed his High School education through Northeast Texas Community College. He married Carrie Sharber of Sulphur Springs in 1990.They have two extraordinary, loving children-Jacob Cooper who is a sophomore at Baylor University and Caitlin Cooper a 7th grader at Sulphur Springs Middle School. His family was the light of his life.

Jeffery was self employed as a cattleman and owned/operated a fence construction company. Through his illness, Jeff missed very few days of work. His farm was his therapy. Often times he would go to the farm before or after a chemo treatment. He was a hard worker and his Word was his Bond. If there was work to be done, there was no time for rest. After Jeffery’s diagnosis, his dad moved back to Sulphur Springs to work side by side with Jeffery to keep the business running.

Jeffery is survived by his wife, Carrie Sharber Cooper of Sulphur Springs, a son, Jacob, 19 of Sulphur Springs/Waco, a daughter, Caitlin, 12 of Sulphur Springs, his mom, Frankie Cooper of Mt Vernon, his dad and stepmom, Steve and Francis Cooper of Sulphur Springs, an older brother Ronald Joe (Joey) Cooper of Sulphur Springs, a step brother, Kelly Wiser and his wife, Shelly and their children, Dichele, Maci, Keelie and Molly of Sulphur Springs and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Billy and Hilga Chester of Sulphur Bluff and Howard and Eva Cooper

Of Hagansport.

Pallbearers are Jacob Cooper, Joey Cooper, Kelly Wiser, Jerry Womack, Jim Womack, Clay Smith, Barry Smith, Art Dudley and Jack Morris.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Way Bible Church, First Baptist Church of Mt Vernon Building Fund or the Fairview Cemetery.
