Funeral services for Jan Farrar Swearingen, 75, of Fort Smith, Ark., formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Myra Wilson Chapel in Sulphur Springs Cemetery with Bro. Tommy Johnston officiating.

Interment will follow in Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Bill Warner, Ryan Warner, Joe Perkins, Bob Gideon, Joe Williamson and Lee Levine serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Mrs. Swearingen died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009.

She was born on Aug. 4, 1934, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of C.J. and Dollie (Hall) Farrar. They preceded her in death.

After graduating from Sulphur Springs High School, she married Kenneth Nance. He preceded her in death in 1985.

Mrs. Swearingen was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

She married Lawrence Swearingen on July 5, 1974, in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 2002.

Survivors include one son, Bill Nance and wife Kim of Chipley, Fla.; one daughter, Julie Warner of Fort Smith, Ark.; four grandchildren, Sara Moore, Ryan Warner, Kaydee Nance and Will Nance; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Moore and Ava Warner.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
