Funeral services for Ruby May Miller, 99, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Carpenter, Mike Emerson, Darren Gray, Kenneth Ward, James Christian and Mike Belz serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Tapp Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Miller passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at Sunny Springs Nursing Home.

Ruby May Christian was born May 26, 1910, in the Paint Rock community of Hopkins County, the daughter of Ed Christian and Nannie Christian. They preceded her in death.

She married Merrill Cleo Miller in Sulphur Springs in 1938. He also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Miller was employed for a number of years with JC Penney and Munves Fashions of Sulphur Springs. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs and a member of the Silverstone Choir. As long as her health permitted, she volunteered at the handmade market.

Survivors include her daughter, Murlene Glaspey of Sulphur Springs; one grandson, David Gibbons of Garland; and one granddaughter, Carol Hamilton of Seattle, Wash.
