A graveside service for Durwood Irby, 69, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in Black Oak Cemetery with Brother David Taylor officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Irby, Jimmy Oxford, Tanner Oxford, Randy Irby, Justin Harrell and Tyler Harrell.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Durwood Irby died Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 2, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Pickton on April 2, 1939, the son of Travis Carmen and Lydia Naoma Wilson Irby.
He married Yvonne Messer in Dallas on March 15, 1974. She survives.
Mr. Irby was a retired office manager for Ross Refrigeration. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include his father; three daughters, Denise Aday of Plano, Sherri McKnight of Rowlett and Brandi Oxford of Winnsboro; two grandsons, Dylan Terrell of Japan and Tanner Oxford of Winnsboro; four granddaughters, Kristin Terrell of Plano, Magan Oxford of Winnsboro, Kayse Click and Madison McKnight, both of Rowlett; one great-grandson, Evan Bryce Terrell of Japan; one brother, Jerry Irby of Pickton; and one sister, JoAnn Romine of Winnsboro.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
