Funeral services for Thelma Ann Chapman, age 92, of Rockwall will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Bradley Edge officiating.

A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at Ridgeway Cemetery in Ridgeway.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.

Thelma Ann Chapman passed away Monday, July 27, 2009.

She was born Oct. 30, 1916, in Hopkins County, to James Louis and Izella (Page) Griffith. They preceded her in death.

Mrs. Chapman enjoyed gardening and cooking, and was very devoted to her church and family. She was a seamstress. She was a member of Eastfield Baptist Church in Mesquite.

Mrs. Chapman is survived by two sons, Jerrel Chapman and wife, Ann, of Rockwall and Orvie Don Chapman and wife, Lucille, of Krum; one sister, Della Goldsmith of Sulphur Springs; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jewel Martin of Sulphur Springs, Ruth Chapman and husband Dee of Greenville, Wanda Eason and husband, Rex, of Morgan, and Ginny Chapman of Memphis, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Orvie Chapman; an infant son: J.E. Chapman; one sister, Lillie Mae Burks; and an infant brother.

Rest Haven-Rockwall Chapel, located at 2500 State Highway 66 East in Rockwall, is in charge of arrangements.
