Funeral services for William F. ‘Bill’ Richards, 82, of Saltillo will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 13, at Beaty Funeral Home, 816 West Broadway in Winnsboro, with Bro. Joe Bass and Betty Jo Estes officiating.
Burial will follow in Cypress Cemetery in Franklin County with Johnny Estes, Billy Bob Freeman, Jerry French, Paul Irby, Edwad Miller and Bob Armstrong serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at the funeral home.
Mr. Richards passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2009.
He was born in Round Rock on July 10, 1926, the son of the late William A. Richards and Viola Rasor Richards.
He married Geneva French on April 13, 1947, in Dallas.
Mr. Richards served in the U.S. Army as an infantry soldier and paratrooper during World War II. He graduated from the Texas State Barber College, then worked as a barber for more than 50 years.
He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge, the Fort Worth Shiners, and VFW Post 8911.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Geneva Richards of Saltillo, and numerous niees and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harvey Richards; and one sister, Ellen Ronnell.
