A graveside service for William Ray “Bill” Stanley, 84, of McKinney, formerly of Sulphur Springs, was conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Princeton Cemetery in Princeton with Monty Ray Stanley officiating.

William Ray “Bill” Stanley passed away Saturday morning, July 4, 2009, at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.

He was born in Frisco on Jan. 25, 1924, the son of John Lewis Stanley and Ida Mae (Jordan) Stanley.

She married Lesa Faye Tallant, at Renner, on May 21, 1949; she survives.

Mr. Stanley was a retired switchman for Southwestern Bell and a member of Hi Point Church of Christ in McKinney. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

Other survivors include one daughter, Judith Carol Seibert of Boerne; one son, Monty Ray Stanley of Carrollton; one sister, Betty French of Plano; five grandchildren, Angela Shaw, Aileen Stanley, Bryan Stanley, Justin Seibert and Kasey Seibert; and two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Rebecca Shaw.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Horton, Leta Tucker and Johnnie Stanford.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
