Funeral services for John D. Flanagan, 70, of Valley View, formerly of Sulphur Springs, are scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Brashear Cemetery with Ronny Skaggs, Lynn Williams, Justin Adair, T.J. Freeman, Cody Morgan and Wayne Skaggs serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 25, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Flanagan went to heaven from his home in Valley View on Monday, June 22, 2009.
John D. Flanagan was born July 24, 1938, in Brashear, the son of Arlis and Christine King Flanagan.
He married Linda Alexander on August, 15, 1980, in Miami, OK. She survives.
Mr. Flanagan was a member of the United States Air Force from 1955-1957 and was stationed in South Dakota and Guam.
He was a retired truck driver.

Surviving children: Angela and husband Brandon Murray of Sulphur Springs, Lisa and husband Noah Ray of Sulphur Springs, Donita and husband David Morgan of Sulphur Springs, Johnny Joe Flanagan of Garland, Misty and husband Josh Veracruz of Sulphur Springs
Surviving grandkids: Biondi Spencer, Breona Bevill, Katie McCarley, Haley Morgan, Kayla Morgan, T.J. Freeman, Cody Morgan, Dillon Flanagan, Tori Flanagan, KeAirah Veracruz and Malachi Veracruz
Surviving great-grandchildren: Kamri Spencer, Brennon Smith, Kylie Spencer, Layla McCarley, Reese Ashworth, Phoenix Capobianco and Adley Mannon
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joyce Marie Flanagan and Mary Ann Payne; and grandparents Jennie and John King and Drew and Mary Flanagan.
