GILMER — Funeral services for Kathleen Wade will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home, 1100 N Wood St. in Gilmer, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with Ross Cody, Guy Wade, Paul Palnau, Randy McCool, Joel Bedgood and Stacy Cody serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David and Ethan Bedgood and Jake Wade.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wade passed away Monday, June 15, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital at the age of 98.
She was born on March 3, 1911, in Dangerfield, the daughter or the late Montie and Clementine DePrang.
On Dec. 24, 1928, she married Herbert Wade in Dangerfield. She and Herbert were married over 63 years when he passed away in 1992.
Kathleen was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gilmer. “Nannie,” as she was affectionately known, was a devoted homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and attending her great-grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include one son, Montie Wade and wife B.J. of Arlington; and one daughter, Wanda Galyean and husband Wayne of Sulphur Springs; five grandchildren, Kathy McCool and husband Randy of Lewisville, Kellie Cody and husband Stacy of Sulphur Springs, Guy Wade and wife Stephanie of Heath, Monica Palnau and husband Paul of Lewisville, and Kerry Bedgood and husband Joel of Sherman; and seven great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Ross Cody, Jake and Emmy Wade, Alyssa Palnau, and David and Ethan Bedgood.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
