Funeral services for Sam Dial, Jr., 74, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at East Caney Baptist Church with Dr. M. LaVelle Hendricks, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in East Caney Cemetery with Kenneth Abron, Terrence Echols, Anthony Dial, Dywane Berry, Brandon Harris, Larry Johnson, Marvin Dial and Benny Dial serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 22, at Mason & Mason Mortuary.
Sam Dial, Jr. died Friday, May 15, at Sulphur Springs Nursing Rehabilitation Center.  
Sam Dial, Jr. was born December 18, 1934, in Hopkins County, to Gurthria Pogue Dial and Sam Dial, Sr.  Both parents preceded him in death.
Sam Dial, Jr. served as an usher for several years at East Caney Baptist Church.  
Sam Dial, Jr. leaves to cherish his memories six daughters, Cecelia Echols, Deanna Harris, Pam Johnson, Greshun Jackson, Tina Lewis and Kim Ransom; two sons, Darryl Dial and Charles Smith; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Mason & Mason Mortuary, 200 Putman St., Sulphur Springs.
