Funeral services for Phyllis Faulk Humphries, age  66, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Sharber and Rev. Russell Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Gerald Osborn, Mike Broyles, Tim Berger, Mike Thurman, Joe Pickett and Tony Hughes serving as pallbearers. Friends at Grocery Supply will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Phyllis Faulk was born January 17, 1943 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of J. W. “John” Faulk and Bernice Hamilton Faulk. She married Billy Ray Humphries in Sulphur Springs on June 9, 1962, he preceded her in death on October 5, 2002. Mrs. Humphries was a long time employee of Grocery Supply Co. working in the purchasing department. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs and the Sojourners Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Humphries passed away on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
Surviving family includes her son, Kevin Ray Humphries and wife Tammi of Sulphur Springs,  grandchildren: Devin Ray Humphries and Kason Raygan Humphries both of Sulphur Springs, Texas and Kristin Renea Humphries of Winnsboro, Texas and a special group of friends; Lucy McCorkle, Sunell Comfort, Cheri Sue Gordon and Sandra Pickett and those that gave greatly for Phyllis, Tim Berger, Jeanie Darlin, Debbie Davis and Donna Morgan.
Mrs. Humphries was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Mary Anna Faulk.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at Tapp Funeral Home.
