Funeral services for Theo Woodard, 89, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Jackie McQueen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Peerless Cemetery with Tyler Bain, Brad Fite, Chris Middleton, Edward Woodard, Brandon Woodard and Stanley McQueen serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Woodard passed away April 27, 2009, at Carriage House Manor Nursing Home.
Theo Tatum was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of D.F. “Dallas” Tatum and Fronie Pettit Tatum.
She married Jack McQueen April 26, 1941. Mr. McQueen passed away on May 21, 1965. She later married W. D. Woodard on April 27, 1967. He preceded her in death Feb. 18, 1986.
Mrs. Woodard was a long time employee of the H. D. Lee Company. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving family includes her sons, Leon McQueen and wife Joann of Mesquite, TX, and Donal McQueen and wife Laura of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Sharon Reeder of Sulphur Springs, Nancy Mahan and husband Josh of Wylie and Kelley Middleton and husband Chris of Winfield; great-grandchildren, Heather Fite and Tyler Bain; and great-great-grandchildren, Ireland Fite and Cooper Fite.
Mrs. Woodard was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wayne Tatum, Jasper Tatum and D.F. Tatum; and sisters, Nora Clark and Rosalyn Davis Allen.
Tapp Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
