David Deihl, 72, of Sulphur Springs died Saturday morning, April 11, 2009, at Sulphur Springs Health & Rehab.
Mr. Deihl was born in Ft. Wayne, Ind., on Dec. 27, 1936, the son of Harry Glenn Deihl and Thelma (Steward) Deihl.
He married Darby Joy Lanford in San Antonio on June 29, 1985. She survives.
Mr. Deihl was a retired master sergeant from the United States Air Force. He served in the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam War. He was also retired from I.B.M.
Other survivors include two daughters, Devon Deihl of Sulphur Springs and Patricia Deihl of San Antonio; three sons, Glenn Deihl and Michael Deihl, both of San Antonio, and James Deihl of New Orleans; three sisters, Darla Gearhard and Dori Johnson, both of Auburn, Ind., and Debbie Thomas of Garrett, Ind.; and four grandchildren, Lily Grace Deihl, Boomer Deihl, Kaleb Benish and Ronnie Deihl.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Brittany Star Deihl.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
