Funeral services for Mildred M. Bilharz, age 88, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Cross Country Cowboy Church with Rev. Byron Houck officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Tim Bilharz, Kevin Bilharz, Tyler Bilharz, Dalton Hoover, Brian Sedgwick, Brad Bilharz, Brian Bilharz, Troy Bilharz and Baylee Hooten serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2009 at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bilharz passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bilharz was born on September 27, 1920 in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Nettie Hartman Altenburg. She married Clair Bilharz on August 5, 1939 in Charles City, IA. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1992. Mrs. Bilharz was a homemaker and retired from Kmart, Kroger and Winn Dixie and was a member of the Cross County Cowboy Church. She is survived by seven sons, Richard Bilharz and wife Sharon of Greenville, Ronald Bilharz and wife Janet of Nashua, IA, Robert Bilharz and wife Debbie of Nashua, IA, Randall Bilharz and wife Starlene of Charles City, IA, James Bilharz and wife Bonnie of Little Falls, MN, Jerald Bilharz of Nashua, IA and Danny Bilharz and wife Patty of Nashua, IA, two daughters, Joan Bilharz of Sulphur Springs and Susan Sedgwick and husband Paul of Charles City, IA, 28 grand-children and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Ronald Bilharz, Jr.
Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
